Mourn

Today the world has lost a great man.

Prof. Y. C. Lee, an expert in GIS, a teacher I respect most passed away yesterday night due to cancer.

The most important thing Prof. Lee taught me wasn't in books. It was how to be a kind man. Because of him, I try to be nice these years, at least to most people.

Here is the story.

One day morning, a photographer, Prof. Lee and I needed to go to the Ocean Park for a GIS (Geographical Information Systems) project. We took a taxi from the university at around 9am. Right at the moment we jumped into the taxi, the driver seemed a bit discontented and reluctant to get us to our destination. I guessed he didn't want to go to the Hong Kong Island side. However, since it is illegal in Hong Kong for taxi drivers to "choose" passengers, he had no choice.

While we were travelling through the Cross Harbour Tunnel, the taxi suddenly went zigzag. The driver expressed his grievance through his driving. Our photographer asked him whether he was angry with us. The driver said we were forcing him, he had stomache and didn't want to go that far. Professor did not make a sound.

Finally we arrived, I got off the taxi first, Professor stayed to pay for the fee. To my surprise, professor gave him an extra HK$20 for breakfast. This opened up my eyes and mind. I may say 101 out of 100 people in Hong Kong won't tip the driver that much, and of course not to those with poor attitude like this one. The driver said sorry to us immediately! Prof. Lee is a real great man. He taught me the correct way to live in this world. I still have much to learn.

Now you know why I respect Prof. Y. C. Lee the most. Not only he is rich in knowledge, he is also a wealthy man in love. He won all the love from his friends and students.

May God take good care of him.

What is it you hope to achieve?
I want to give an impression to the people listening, to communicate with them.

What do you think about when you play?
Well, the music, of course. But sometimes I also imagine a very beautiful sight - like a sunset.

Temple

I still couldn't find the time to organize my Egypt trip photos.

Password

Some people like to use the name of their loved one as password.

It is a very romantic act every time you log on something. You are reinforcing and reassuring your love.

However, it is not a very good idea using that as password. It is prone to hacks. Unless all your loved ones are having the same name, will you change all your passwords when you have changed your mate?? There isn't any convincing excuse for using names other than your loved one as password.

What are you waiting for? Do it now if you have forgotten.

By the way, I use random characters as passwords. (joker)

Pretty

Winnie is a very common name in Hong Kong, I know at least 7 Winnies.

Today's prettiest Winnie must be Winnie Nieh, she gets married today.

Best wishes!

Expiry

Are you still dare to eat it in 2009?

It reminds me of the Stinky Meat Project.

History

Everyone has their own history

Don't unveil people's history while you don't have to.

What for?

Cult

I feel helpless in fighting with a cult.

I heard enough distorted theories.

Sorry, no one can enslave my body and soul. (devil)

Don't underestimate the power of the dark force.

Now proceeding to the final judgement.

Memory

While my memory isn't good, it is good to know there is someone who can remember my words for so many years. Either my saying was so meaningful or it was ridiculously insane.

Dinner with an old friend tonight.

I treasure long-term relationship a lot, a long-term relationship is built by mutual respect and is time-proven. I think real friends don't need to meet a lot. A relationship can be as fragile as hanging by a thread even seeing each other everyday. I believe friends are born, not made.
